Cosmetic regulatory services from labelling and registration to marketing
Cosmetics and cosmetic products must comply with the regulatory requirements of the EU Cosmetics Regulation and Cosmetics Act. Medfiles specialists are comprehensively familiar with the legislation of cosmetics and will be happy to support you in all matters related to cosmetics. We also help you understand what kind of safety data a cosmetic ingredient should have and how to register a cosmetic product in the EU.
LABELLING AND MARKETING OF COSMETICS
The labelling of cosmetics must be in line with the EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 and the local legislation of the country of destination. In addition, depending on the composition and indications of the preparation, it may be necessary to evaluate the legality on the basis of specific legislation. On your behalf, we will check that the labelling on the product container and outer packaging of the cosmetic product is correct for both mandatory and voluntary information.
Mandatory cosmetic labelling must include, for example,
- The substances contained in the product are marked with the correct INCI names
- Precautions to be followed
- Shelf life
- Purpose of the product, if necessary
- Voluntary data include e.g.
- Marketing claims
- Free from claims
Cosmetic safety
- Based on the information we have received from you, we will make an initial assessment of the necessary safety information for the raw material of the cosmetic product in the region or country where you wish to bring your product to the market.
- We also clarify the need for REACH registration in the EU (REACH, chemical registration, evaluation, authorisation and restrictions). You can get a more detailed safety assessment, information claims, REACH questionnaire and REACH registration by our audited partner.
- You will also receive a safety assessment and report of the cosmetic product and, if necessary, a safety data sheet. We are also able to handle the application process for a cosmetic product to the Scientific Committee of the European Commission (SCCS). We can also register a cosmetic product on the European Commission’s cosmetic product notification portal (CPNP).
